easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christ came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was still crucified, not for his own sins, but for ours. after 3 days, he rose again and ascended into heaven. we set aside "resurrection day" to not only praise god with singing and reading of scripture, but also reflection and remembrance of his sacrifice for each and everyone one of us.
